So we were stuck with this brand new disposall that could not be installed unless we changed all the piping. The short story.
It was never installed and has not seen one drop of water. Which means you don't need a separate wiring circuit with switch.
It worked great and we liked the batch feature. The long story.
Your chance to save. Brand new, never installed. In 2014 we were gutting re model ling our kitchen unfortunately, months after we bought this unit, the plumber went to dry fit it and found that the Geometry of plumbing under our sink had been done assuming a different model.
You just wire the power cord directly to the unit, so it always has power. So we had to buy a different model entirely I bought this disposall because it was the exact same model we had for years in our old kitchen.
